Indie rock band Local Natives have released a new music video today (June 18) for their single "You & I." The dramatic tale tells of an important death in the history of the world, and it is certainly a roller coaster of emotion.

The clip shows the story of the death of the last dog on Earth. It all begins with an ambulance while mourners wait in the hospital holding flowers, Get Well cards and stuffed toys. The adorable gray pooch, also known as Sandra Hamilton, sits in a hospital bed while her family looks on.

Meanwhile, two office workers seem to look for a cure or reason, while a map of other recently deceased dogs stares them down.

Heart monitors drop and, inevitably, Sandra dies. The researches, the family and the world are heartbroken. The researchers head out to drown their sorrows, but one goes out on an adventure, implying that Sandra may not have been the last dog left.

Was Sandra really the last canine in the world? Watch the video below to find out the exciting conclusion:

"You & I" is the third single off Local Natives' second studio album Hummingbird.

The group also recently announced their North American fall tour. The series of concerts begins on Sept. 12 in Oakland, Calif. And ends at Austin City Limits on Oct. 11. They will be hitting the road with Wild Nothing, an indie pop band from Virginia.

The band has most recently played at Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival in Tennessee this last weekend.
