Taylor Swift's song "Dear John" was not even about John Mayer, according to the songstress that is. Whether it was or not didn't stop John Mayer from writing a song that didn't... not sound... completely.. like he was talking about Taylor Swift. The song seemingly brings to light other things about a relationship that seem to shadow awful close to the couple's relationship.

There are a couple parts of the song that seem to be accusing of a girl who Mayer refers to as Paper Doll. He asks in the song, "Was it just too far to fall for a little paper doll?"

Stories about this supposed retaliation song seem to be very stretched. There is a lyric in Mayer's song where he says, "you're like 22 girls in one." People have been connecting that lyric to Swift's sing 22. Now I know numbers are random, and it is odd that Mayer picked 22 out of all of the other numbers in the world, but it still doesn't seem as obvious as when Swift wrote her song and just bluntly named it "Dear John."

There is one other thing about the song that people seem to be gravitating toward when it comes to calling this a retaliation song. Mayer sings of this paper doll putting on a blue and gold dress. In Swift's song, she refers to herself as "the girl in the dress." That one seems to be a lot more stretched out and is reaching very far, but it still has people wondering... is this song a retaliation? Maybe.

What do you all think? Are Taylor Swift and John Mayer in a lyrical fight right now? What other comparisons can you find? Leave your replies in the comments below, we are excited to see what else you can come up with.

John Mayer's song is sitting right below for those of you who would like to hear it for yourselves. Plus, the lady in the video is hilarious, she is prancercising to the song... worth a look it will make you laugh more than likely!
