Yesterday (June 19), the Kidz Bop franchise sent the Internet into the lol-osphere when they released their version of Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' "Thrift Shop." The song, known for its ridiculous (and foul) language saw many of its words changed in the cover version.

To make songs family-friendly, the Kidz Bop Kids have been altering the lyrics to some of music's biggest hits since 2001.

Here are five of the most ridiculous alterations done on the compilation albums:

5. "Photograph," originally by Nickelback

Back in 2006, Kidz Bop chose generally more squeaky clean songs to cover. The most scandalous choice from Kidz Bop 9 was Nickelback's ballad "Photograph." Small lyrical changes like "What the heck was on Joey's head" and "gosh" instead of "God" were made.

However, Kidz Bop also recognizes responsible school-going. Instead of Chad Kroeger singing about skipping school, these youngins were simply late.

Apparently, kissing Kim is pretty scandalous too. Ooo!

4. "Party Like A Rockstar," originally by Shop Boyz

Instead of even bothering to change lyrics like "I got a rubber in my pants, / But these h**s won't let my thing go," the Kidz Bop Kids just decided to skip over whole verses in their cover version. Instead, they just repeated the chorus "Party like a rockstar, / Totally dude," about five dozen times.

Really. It's kind of all the do in the Kidz Bop 13 song. Apparently it was popular enough to be featured on Kidz Bop Greatest Hits and Kidz Bop Dance Party. Totally, dude.

3. "Gangnam Style," originally by Psy

This one is ridiculous on a whole different level. That's not just because they decided to opt for "Hey, hey lady" instead of "Hey sexy lady," but just listen to these kids butcher the original Korean.

The lyrics probably went unchanged, but the pronunciation is so bad, it may as well be marked as different words.

2. "Starships," originally by Nicki Minaj

As lyrics to songs get saucier, the Kidz Bop writers have more work to do. 2012 hit "Starships," which was featured on Kidz Bop 22 with "Gangnam Style" needed a lot of work done.

They opted to switch out "We're higher than a motherf**ker" with "We're Kidz Bop and we're taking over!" They also opted to switch out "We're so fly" for "We're so high."

It's self-promotional and clean enough for the kids, but that doesn't stop these edits from sounding totally off. Mix in the bad vocal effects and yeah, this one is pretty awful.

1. "Thrift Shop," originally by Macklemore & Ryan Lewis

Where to even begin with this one?

What's more ridiculous, the opening lines "Roll up into the club like 'What up I got a hit song?'" or "Probably should have washed this, / Smells like my used baseball cleats, / EWW."

The winner may actually be the change from "Limited edition, let's do some simple addition, / Fifty dollars for a T-shirt that's just some ignorant b*tch s**t," to "Fifty dollars for a T-shirt, that's just silly overpriced."

The changed line, while necessary to make the song good for the kids, completely interrupts the flow of the rap. But they have to do something to make it "really awesome."
