Monica Lewinsky 2013: Infamous Clinton Intern's Mementos Being Auctioned in Los Angeles

Antique buffs will have the chance to bid on more risqué pieces of our nation's history when a series of 32 items formerly belonging to Monica Lewinsky go up for auction. Most can be traced back to when Lewinsky was working as an intern for the Clinton administration in 1996-'97. 

Lewinsky is best known as the staffer involved in an affair that would end with Clinton's impeachment in 1998. As investigations continued, it came to light that Lewinsky was also involved in an affair with her former high school drama teacher, Andy Bleiler, who was also married. When Clinton went before the House of Representatives, special prosecutor Kenneth Starr received items from Bleiler as part of the investigation, all of which are now part of the lot being auctioned. 

The headlining part of the collection is a black piece of negligee that belonged to to Lewinsky, for obvious reasons. Also of interest are two letters to Bleiler, one from Lewinsky and one from Clinton. The letter from Clinton was written at the bequest of Lewinsky, who was currently involved with Bleiler at the time. The letter appears on official White House stationary and wishes the man a "happy birthday." The second letter features Lewinsky flaunting her involvement with the President. "Am I good at lying through my teeth or what?" she writes. 

Clinton would end up being impeached by the House of Representatives in 1998 before being acquitted by the Senate. Clinton served until the end of his term in 2001. 

The collection is available for bidding on the Nate D. Sanders website until Thursday, June 27 at 5 p.m. As of Tuesday morning, bidding had reached $2,750.
