If money is power, than Lady Gaga is the most powerful musician in the world, at least according to Forbes magazine

The magazine bases its yearly list on a number of factors, but money is certainly one of them. In the calendar year between June 2012 and 2013, Gaga earned $80 million based entirely on touring. The interesting this is that Gaga actually came up short of what she could have potentially made. The pop star was forced to cancel the remainder of her Born This Way Ball tour when she underwent hip surgery. It's estimated that the additional dates would've brought in an additional $30 million. Gaga placed second behind only Oprah Winfrey on Forbes celebrity Top 100.

The magazine also qualified that it took Gaga's internet presence into account when ranking her at the top. The performer has 38 million Twitter followers and 58 million Facebook fans.

Beyonce came in at no. 2 on the musicians list, bringing in nearly $2 million dollars at every show she plays. Madonna and Taylor Swift keep the girl power going at spots three and four, and somehow or another, Jon Bon Jovi is no. 5. Justin Bieber, Jennifer Lopez, Rihanna, Coldplay and Katy Perry fill out the top-ten.

One would think money would be the biggest deal for a Forbes list, but some big earners didn't land in the Top 10. The Rolling Stones, for example, easily take in the most per show, raking in nearly $5 million per gig. Dr. Dre is also a huge earner (thanks to his headphone line) that failed to place.

Lady Gaga could hold down the top spot next year as well if she tours in support of her next album, a mystery LP titled "ARTPOP." There's no release date as of yet, but EDM artist Zedd has confirmed that he'll assist on several tracks.
