Kanye West is certainly no stranger to being in headlines, especially with his new album Yeezus dropping earlier this month and of course the birth of his daughter with Kim Kardashian, North West. He also has been participating in some crazy interviews that feature plenty of egotistical comments that we can only expect from the talented rapper and producer, but one interview brought up another project that most people might have forgotten about: The Jetsons movie.

Back in January, West boasted that he landed the role of "Creative Director" on the adaptation of the sci-fi cartoon on his Twitter account but then deleted the post. This was the last we had heard of West's involvement in the project besides a Vulture interview with producer Denise DiNovi.

"He's not the creative director on the movie, but I loved his passion for The Jetsons," DiNovi said. "He gets the whole thing about the future that never was. He sees us living on a precipice of technology - cameras in your eye, your mind as a remote control to fire lasers - and wonders how things are going to break, for good or for bad."

Soon after West's tweet, Van Robichaux and Evan Susser were hired to write a screenplay for the project, so it looks like the film is actually happening. Though West's involvement has not been officially confirmed, though his schedule since his tweet has undoubtedly been pretty hectic.

So is he still working on The Jetsons?

According to a recent interview with W Magazine, he most certainly is!

Here is a quote from the W article about West that answers this question:

"We weave through highway traffic as West makes calls about an upcoming Jetsons movie on which, he tells me, he is creative director."

To be clear: West naming himself the "creative director" does not make it so, but he is at least involved in the project.
