All is not lost in the gripping case of Justin Bieber's pet monkey. Mally, the pet capuchin monkey that Bieber was forced to leave behind in Germany after failing to fill out the proper paperwork, has found a new home in the Serengeti Park in Hodenhagen.

The issue began when Bieber tried to bring the monkey into Germany with him when beginning a leg of the "Believe" world tour in Europe, and German customs officials called him out for bringing a "wild" animal into the country. The primate was transferred to an animal shelter in Munich to undergo a required quarantine process.

Now the monkey will enjoy life on a private island...or at least an island surrounded by a moat at the zoo near Hanover in north Germany. He'll share the habitat with six other capuchin monkeys. Employees at the zoo have already taken to calling the exhibit "Mally-bu" in reference to the news-making monkey. Zoo officials expect his adjustment to life with the other primates just fine, as he's "not too old" to fit in.

Bieber received the monkey in March when it was about 9 weeks old. After it was confiscated in April, the pop star had until May 7 to provide documents to reclaim his pet but the German government did not receive any word from Bieber's crew, so the animal was donated to the only zoo in the country that had other capuchins.

Based on reports from over the weekend, Bieber has already moved on to a new monkey. The vocalist held up his private flight from Miami for more than eight hours while he went back to Palm Beach after leaving his new primate behind. Bieber apparently chartered a helicopter to avoid traffic. Mally is probably doing okay without all the media hubbub in its life.
