Alex Baldwin, notorious for his inability to keep a level head on social media or not, has once again deactivated his Twitter account after he went to town on a British reporter from the Daily Mail

The reporter, George Stark, reported that Baldwin's wife Hilaria Baldwin had been tweeting while the couple attended the funeral of actor James Gandolfini. Hilaria responded with a tweet explaining that the the time signature of the alleged tweets wasn't accurately represented by the Daily Mail and that she did not have her phone during the service. Alec was a bit less restrained when addressing Stark.

"My wife and I attend a funeral to pay our respects to an old friend, and some toxic Brit writes this f-----g trash," he wrote. "My wife DID NOT use her phone, in any capacity, at our friend's funeral. Now f--- this twitter + good luck to all of you who know the truth."

Following tweets aimed at the reporter by Baldwin included the phrases "f--- you up," "f-----g little queen," and "If (sic) put my foot up your f-----g a--, George Stark, but I'm sure you'd dig it too much."

Subtle.

The tweets were deleted shortly afterwards, followed by Baldwin's announcement that he was going on hiatus from the site. It's not the first time that the actor has gone on a regrettable tweet spree resulting in a break from the service. In 2011, Baldwin went on a tirade against American Airlines after he was kicked off a flight for failing to quit his Words With Friends game. In February, Baldwin is alleged to have referred to a black paparazzi member as a "coon" and a "crackhead."

The Baldwins released a statement, not apologizing for Alec's behavior but explaining why Hilaria wasn't at fault.

"It's disgraceful that a reporter would manufacture and publish a story and not call for comment or explanation-especially when it's intended to take away attention from honoring the memory of a beloved figure like James Gandolfini," they wrote. "There are multiple witnesses to the fact that Hilaria left her phone in the car and wouldn't, couldn't, and didn't tweet during the service...And as for the tweets-1) some of the time stamps in the report were wrong because he listed the time of the original tweet not the retweet 2) she left early and wasn't in the service at the time of tweeting 3) it's possible that a previously scheduled tweet wasn't canceled."
