Laura Robson is Britain's number one ranked female tennis player who is a hopeful to take home the Wimbledon gold in 2013. As of her win earlier today, she is the first Brit to make it to the fourth round since 1998. With a whole nation backing her, some high-profile fans have also come out of the woodwork including One Direction members Harry Styles and Liam Payne. The pop stars took to their respective Twitter accounts to show support for the young tennis pro, which resulted in countless new followers for Robson as well as the usual wrath of One Direction fans. Luckily Laura seems to be laughing off the Twitter experience and appreciates the support!
One Thursday, Laura was set to play a match against Colombian competitor Mariana Duque-Marino, so Harry and Liam decided to wish her luck on Twitter:

It looks like their wishes worked because Robson has now moved on after her victory!
In a recent press conference, Robson addressed the attention she has received since the One Direction tweets. She admits that some girls were not too happy that Harry and Liam were giving another lady some attention, but she was laughing about the whole experience.
"Harry is my biggest fan," Laura joked during the interview after the game. She also admitted to having never met the One Direction boys. "I didn't follow Harry. I haven't really been going on Twitter."
"But I looked at my replies and there were thousands of messages saying 'Who is she?' ... I was wetting myself because it was so funny. I think I've gained 20,000 followers, and they have no idea who I am," she added while laughing.
Robson revealed that she does not use Twitter too often, but her latest tweet greeted her many new followers:
