The 2013 rendition of the BET Awards occurred last night (June 30) in Los Angeles. Among the spectacle and performances which included Nicki Minaj, Janelle Monae and Chris Brown, R&B legend Charlie Wilson was honored with the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The 11-minute long tribute to Wilson began with the 60-year-old crooner belting out his own tune, 2010's "You Are." At this point, it was already clear that he was going to steal the show, but that was before the guest stars came out.

Snoop Dogg and Pharrell then joined Wilson onstage to sing their old-school hit "Beautiful." After taking their turns rapping and singing while Wilson played the role of hype man, the honoree took over the song singing the refrain of "You are so damn beautiful." Though the song is surprisingly 10 years old, in the performance with Wilson, it felt as fresh as ever.

The recently announced performance of Justin Timberlake at the BET Awards proved to be a part of the Charlie Wilson medley. The "Suit & Tie" singer joined Snopp and Wilson for their collaboration "Signs," off Snoop's 2005 album R&G (Rhythm & Gangsta).

The performance went old school with Wilson's group The Gap Band's 1982 song "You Dropped a Bomb on Me." The medley concluded with "Outstanding."

This isn't the first time Charlie Wilson has been honored with an achievement award during his 30-year career. He won the BMI Icon Award in 2005 and the Soul Train Icon Award in '09. The Trumpet Awards, which honor accomplishments by black Americans, gave Wilson their Lifetime Achievement Award in January of this year.
