One Direction has been performing a version of Wheatus’ hit single “Teenage Dirtbag” for quite some time now, and it turns out the alternative rock group is enjoying the new fans thanks to this. Luckily, Twitter has given Wheatus the chance to thank the One Direction boys. After seeing One Direction in concert last week and also getting a shout out from the band members before they performed his song, Wheatus singer Brendan B. Brown took to Twitter to thank the boys.

The Brooklyn-based band has been posting compliments on top of compliments for the boys of One Direction on Twitter and also some live footage of them covering "Teenage Dirtbag."

But here is how the Twitter conversation between One Direction and Wheatus started. Brown went to One Direction's concert at Jones Beach and was impressed enough to tell his Twitter followers about it. In fact, Louis Tomlinson found out that the singer of Wheatus was in the crowd and was audibly excited. This lead to Harry thanking Wheatus before they performed "Teenage Dirtbag."

Brown also sent Tweets to Zayn and Louis, too:
“@zaynmalik dude…thank you so much for last night man…you can sing my high parts anytime! ”
“@Louis_Tomlinson thank you so so much for shouting me out last night man…you guys were Godzilla awesome!”
