Vans Warped Tour Features August Burns Red, Successful Metalcore Band, As They Promote Their New Album, 'Rescue and Restore'

This year's Vans Warped Tour features recent rock success group, 'August Burns Red,' whose recent album release, 'Rescue & Restore' is  currently No. 6 on the Top Rock Album chart through iTunes.

The new album was released on June 25 and marked the band's fifth full-length studio album.  'Rescue & Restore' has received rave reviews from both critics and fans and was released at No. 9 on the Billboard 200 chart.

The aim of this album was to "[turn] a critical eye to the oft-maligned genre" of metalcore and to "[lead] by example to prove that bands can still find exciting new ways to expand the genre without simply falling into repetitive trappings," according to the band website.  "Rescue & Restore is about challenging other bands and ourselves, as well as fans of this music, to want more than whatever happens to be the current buzz," said JB Brubaker, guitarist and principal songwriter for the band.

The album features experimentation with instruments and other musical elements in order to create a new feel to a genre that tends to remain fairly static.  It contains 11 tracks, which feature heavy drums, guitar riffs and a whole lot of screaming, along with some less-common liberties that are taken with additional piano, cello, violin, trumpet and percussive elements.

August Burns Red is a five-piece band that hails from Lancaster, Pennsylvania.  The band is comprised of Brent Rambler on guitar, Dustin Davidson on bass and vocals, Jake Luhrs on lead vocals, J.B. Brubaker on guitar, and Matt Greiner on drums and keyboard.  Previous albums that they have released include 'Thrill Seeker' in 2005, 'Messengers' in 2007, 'Constellations' in 2009, 'Home' in 2010, and 'Leveler' in 2011.

The band will touring with Vans Warped Tour throughout the remainder of July, hitting a new city almost every day, and will continue the tour until it comes to an end on August 4, in Houston, Texas.
