Miley Cyrus 'Party In The U.S.A.' Petition: 'We The People' Calls For Twerking Singer's Single To Replace National Anthem [VIDEOS]

Around Independence Day, it's natural for people to reflect on "The Star Spangled Banner," Francis Scott Key's battle-recounting hymn that has served as the USA's national anthem since 1916. While most people see a song that they have sang since grade school and maybe swell with a bit of pride, at least 250 people saw an opportunity for change. That's the number of people who have signed a 'We The People' petition to replace Key's composition with Miley Cyrus' "Party In The U.S.A."

There isn't much of a case made by the petitioner. In full, the text of the petition reads "Obama please make Miley Cyrus' "Party in the USA" our national anthem. It is what is best for this country."

The petition is 99,749 signatures short of the threshold required for an official response from policy experts and the White House. It has until August 1 to reach this goal, however, it appears you won't be seeing baseball stadiums full of confused bros singing "All I'm seeing are stillettos, I guess I never got the memo" anytime soon.
