Let me start off by laying it all on the table: I have never been a Beyonce fan. Therefore, I am not the target audience for the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour (essentially a greatest hits album brought to life, as Bey hasn't dropped a new album). That being said, I have never felt such a sense of soul-shattering, voice-stealing awe as I did when Mrs. Beyonce Giselle Knowles-Carter popped out of the stage a mere 10 feet from where I was standing, on a stage the size of a city block (depicted above).

And Bey isn't one to let that feeling of wonderment go to waste. She proceeded to launch into a two-and-a-half hour set that never let up.

It was finely choreographed chaos. It was the perfect blend of ratcheted up club anthems and stunningly beautiful vocals. It was straight art.

In spite of the fact that I knew one song the entire night, Beyonce's show managed to be the single greatest performance I have ever witnessed. Everything, from the stunning live sound of Bey and her all-lady band to the fireworks (literal and metaphorical equally represented) that accompanied every rack, was -to cop a word that many people use to describe Bey, and one I've already used too many times in this article- perfect.

(A note on the word "perfect" in the context of Beyonce: Many performers lose a little bit of their shimmer when you see them live. The aura that existed around them may not shatter but it certainly suffers a few dents once you realize that they are, at the end of the day, only human.

Seeing Bey in the flesh, confirmed that she exists, but her humanity was never confirmed. Even standing within touching distance, watching this self-proclaimed "Grown Woman" leave everything on the stage, the lowest level I could bring Bey down to was "potential Metahuman, maybe a member of the Weapon X program."

She is glorious and you will not get a chance to forget it.)

The music was a well-measured mix of love songs and bangers, and every song was attempted with a tangible ferocity that kept everyone from the floor to the rafters pumped.

The costumes were fabulous and photos can be found at the bottom. It should be noted that the golden-nipple costume was not worn by Bey, but her dancers definitely had them on during "Naughty Girl."

The effects were incredible and too numerous to ever fully remember. There was the time Beyonce's guitarist BiBi McGill shredded on her all black Flying V as sparks shot out of both ends. There was the insanely choreographed "colorful lines" dance that accompanied "Schoolin' Life." There was the Queen singing seductively from behind a wall of flame during "Naughty Girl" There was the time that Beyonce flew over the crowd to a second stage to sing "Irreplaceable"...

Even the interlude movies that allowed Beyonce to change and set pieces to move were breathtaking. If you've ever wanted to see twerking handmaidens, breakdancing bodyguards, a despondent Bey twirling in a dirty tutu or an all Mrs. Carter version of "Justify My Love," you're in luck.

All of the spectacle and energy had me responding to Beyonce as she sang "Why Don't You Love Me?" with a genuine "I have no idea, B." To watch Beyonce's face shift throughout the song from sadness to anger and then eventually Ludacris-like levels of "Bitch, I'm me" had me promising myself to look up her albums when I got home.

I know I'm gushing now, but I don't think I realized how much of a fan I'd become until Beyonce let out the immediately recognizable "Iiiiif I...shoooould stay" and the "Oh, My God. This Is Really Happening" hit me so hard, I had to fight back tears.

Beyonce literally has millions of fans. But on Tuesday night in Ft. Lauderdale, she earned one more.

FINAL NOTES:

-Only Beyonce can get fans this excited to watch a music video at a concert.

-It is physically impossible to sing "Love On Top" without doing the circle-finger to point-at-the ceiling motion on the high-pitched "you".

-This is your brain after a Beyonce concert.
