Jay-Z is no stranger to beefs with other big names. Lord knows the rivalry between him and Queens rapper Nas sold some albums. But this is the first time we've heard about him getting testy with an actor. And not just any actor, but Robert De Niro

The incident seems to have taken place during 2012 when both were attending actor Leonardo DiCaprio's 38th birthday party (Jay has been buddy-buddy with DiCaprio for a while, handling the soundtrack to the actor's "The Great Gatsby." De Niro is also a big deal actor, and most of them are friends). Apparently, De Niro angrily approached Mr. Carter and addressed him regarding the rapper not calling the Good Fella back. It seems Jay-Z didn't have much interest in whatever project the actor was pitching to him, and it doesn't seem like his feelings on the matter have changed. The rapper was on New York City's Power 105.1 radio station on Thursday discussing the matter, among other things.

"I treat people based on who they are... who they really are. Not the name, not Robert De Niro, like, you know, who you are as a person," Jay said. "It doesn't matter who you are, everyone has to be respectful and everyone has to be a human being. No one is above. That's just the end of it and that's how I carry it with anybody."

This is a fair point, as Jay hasn't returned any of our calls either. Good to know we get fair treatment. The rapper has been unusually busy since announcing his new album "Magna Carta Holy Grail" however. The record has already gone platinum thanks to a download-advertising campaign by Samsung, plus Jay performed the song "Picasso Baby" for six straight hours on Thursday for a promotional music video.
