In one of the most watched trials in America in the case of George Zimmerman v the State of Florida for the 2012 murder of Trayvon Martin, Zimmerman was acquitted on all charges.

At around 10:15 pm Saturday, July the six member jury reached a decision following 16 hours of deliberation. They had been given the chance to convict Zimmerman of manslaughter but did not do so, despite asking for a clarification of the charge earlier in the evening, the Miami Herald reported.

While the all female juror, of Zimmerman's peers were left to decide if he was a cold blooded murder or a well-to-do neighborhood watchman, they concluded with the latter causes the nation to respond with hurt, anger, pain, and prayer for the Martin family.

While the nation took to social media to respond to the verdict, it was apparent that it remains deeply divided, however; one fact that cannot be argued is that racism is still alive and rearing its ugly head in America.

Within seconds of the verdicts announcement the millions of spectators took to social media to express their thoughts. Check out the aggregation of Tweets from some of you favorite celebrities and more.
