Wisconsin put away its cheese for a minute to bring out one of the best acts to come out of the state. The rock band goes by the name of Skillet, and their album plays like one long song. Each song rolls into the next, and fans can't get enough. The band is now appearing on late night television.

Last week, Conan introduced special guest Skillet to perform their newest hit "Rise." You can watch the video to the explosive show here:

Skillet's new album continues to hover high in the charts after its release on June 25. The rock group considers their lyrics Christian although they perform at various venues. Skillet has quickly become a large name in the rock community and local media.

The New York Times recently printed an article about Skillet front and center in the Arts section.

The lead reads:

--"Only three rock bands had albums that sold more than one million last year - the Black Keys, Mumford & Sons and a hard-rock outfit from Wisconsin with far less name recognition: Skillet."-- New York Times on July 9, 2013.

The article continues while saying Rise was inspired partly by school shootings and terrorist bombings. Skillet lead vocalist John Cooper said the album is about "a typical American teenager coming into adulthood and faced with how tragic and horrifying the world can be."
