The much-ballyhooed fourth season of "Arrested Development" occupied its cult audience for an entire weekend earlier in 2013 and gave those fans something to argue over for years to come. Regardless of what you thought about the 15 episode run, Netflix thought the results were great. The company's CEO Reed Hastings hasn't given any numbers for viewership, but noted that the series exceeded expectations. Naturally, that makes fans wonder if Season 5 is a lock yet.

"We are in conversations with [Netflix] to do another," said Brian Grazer, a chairman with Imagine Entertainment, the company that produces the show. "They are interested in doing that."

Hastings has been a little wishy-washy on the subject however. As the current season was being developed, the CEO said that it was a "unique property," but that they "don't anticipate being able to do Season Five, Six and Seven."

However, Hastings backtracked on those comments in May, saying that Netflix would be happy to return to the Bluth family narrative if the talent involved were willing. Grazer and co-producer/narrator Ron Howard said they were ready to do another season far before the new season debuted.

"We found that Arrested Development is a binge-viewing experience, and Netflix could provide us with a way to satiate that audience. They were the only outlet that could do that," Grazer said. "Fox was really good to us. They stayed with the show as long as they could. Maybe it would have been better on cable, sure. Hard to say."
