Shockwaves were sent through the GLEE community when it was announced that star Cory Monteith passed away over the weekend while in Vancouver. Many of his costars from the FOX TV show and celebrities have expressed their sorrow at the 31-year-old's death.

However, as of yesterday, none of the main, original cast of GLEE had made a statement regarding Monteith's death until "Will Schuster" actor Matthew Morrison gave tribute to his fellow actor in concert.

According to US Weekly, at his performance of "Up Close and Personal with Matthew Morrision" in New York City last night (July 14), Morrison dedicated the night's show to Monteith.

"Matt came out before the show started and said, 'We lost a great young man too soon. He said Cory was a beautiful person," an audience member told US. He then dedicated an a capella version of "What I Did For Love."

Meanwhile, in England, a convention meant to celebrate the TV show GLEE turned into a memorial of sorts for the fallen star. In London, a GLEE convention stopped all its planned activities on Sunday in order for fans to gather and remember Monteith, who played Finn Hudson on the hit show.

According to ABC News, the 250 fans came together, sang "Don't Stop Believin" and chanted for Cory. GLEE Warbers Curt Mega and Telly Lang led a discussion and intimate sing-along to help fans cope with Monteith's passing and talk about what happened.
