Robert Downey Jr. was the highest earning actor of the last year thanks to Iron Mania and his role in last year's highest earning film, "The Avengers." The actor brought in an estimated $75 million between June 2012 and June 2013 according to Forbes magazine.

How much the actor made for his roles in "The Avengers" and "Iron Man 3" isn't known, but it's been hinted that his salary for the former may have been upwards of $50 million by itself. The Iron Man series has also been a proven earner, which would merit a bigger paycheck for Downey Jr. Whatever he was paid for the films, it seems to have been worth it. "The Avengers" brought in more than $1.5 billion worldwide and "Iron Man 3" has made $1.2 billion. With another "Avengers" film in the works, Downey Jr. should be set for a little while.

Coming in behind Downey at no. 2 was Channing Tatum, who made $60 million thanks to films such as "21 Jump Street" and "Magic Mike." Tatum also demonstrated a shrewd business sense by financing "Mike" himself, and therefore profiting more when it went on to make $167 million. "Jump Street" made $201 million.

Third place was Hugh Jackman, making $55 million, followed closely by Mark Wahlberg at $52 million, with the top five being rounded off by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson with $46 million. Leonardo DiCaprio and Tom Cruise, who have topped the list before, came in respectively at nos. 6 and 8.

The list did not include actresses.
