Lefty golfer Phil Mickelson pulled off a stunning British Open 2013 victory Sunday, July 21. Mickelson had perhaps one of the finest final rounds of his career Sunday in order to pull off the come from behind win at the 2013 British Open. Mickelson came back from eighth place to win his fifth major title at the Muirfield Golf Club in Scotland. Mickelson got past Lee Westwood, Adam Scott, and Henrik Stenson who finished in second place at even par. Tiger Woods finished five strokes behind Mickelson to finish the British Open two over par.

"I've had some of the best golf I've ever played today," Mickelson told ESPN. "It will be one of the most memorable rounds of golf I've ever played." Going into Sunday's final round, Lee Westwood and Adam Scott were discussed primarily as the front runners. However, Mickelson came almost out of nowhere to storm past them while shooting a five under 66 in his final round.

"This is such an accomplishment for me," Mickelson said via the LA Times. "I never knew if I'd be able to develop the game and the shots to play links golf effectively. To play what is arguably the best round of my career, to putt the way I putted, to shoot the round of my life, it just feels amazing to win the claret jug."

Meanwhile, Tiger Woods was trying to end the longest majors' drought of his career, but finished in fifth place at two over, tied with Zach Johnson and Hideki Matsuyama.
