After weeks and weeks of anticipation, One Direction’s new single “Best Song Ever” was released today (July 22) on iTunes, despite having leaked late last week. More excitingly, though, the hilarious music video for the This Is Us song debuted, and it pokes fun at old boy band stereotypes and the Hollywood film process.

Before the release of the music video, the "Kiss You" band had been teasing their roles via countdown videos. The results -- which feature Niall Horan as Harvey the studio exec, Louis Tomlinson as Jonny the Studio exec, Zayn Malik as the nameless sexy assistant, Harry Styles as Marcel the marketing guy and Liam Payne as Leeroy the choreographer - are almost unrecognizable 1D members. The makeup artists for this clip really deserve some kind of award, particularly for Malik's assistant character.

The video with "Harvey" and "Jonny" discussing what to do with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, the real members of One Direction walk in to talk about plans for their new movie and music video. Though "Marcel" and "Leeroy" plan for the boys to dress and dance like, perhaps, a '90s boy band, 1D have their own plans.

The band then takes over the studio, trashing the meeting room and dancing in their own way. Film footage from the upcoming This Is Us is interspersed between the wild scenes of 1D taking over Hollywood.

Luckily for "Leeroy," One Direction do take on a dancing scene in the office. The moves are a little more reminiscent of a silly friends' routine than an old-school Backstreet Boys or *NSYNC video, but it definitely delivers laughs.
