Now that we know that multi-hyphenate Donald Glover will only appear in 5 episodes of Community next season to focus on his music career as Childish Gambino, it helps to know that he'll be putting out tracks as good as "Centipede."

The track treads familiar ground for Gambino (the changes that fame brought to his life, growing up in poverty, a lack of respect from the hip-hop community, unsuccesful relationships) but an interesting handclap-y beat, trippy R&B hook and wonderful acapella sections that sound like they were recorded on someone's porch, barking dogs and all, make the track sound fresh.

There's also an awesome bit at the end that I thought was just spoken word but RapGenius points out is a lifted bit of dialogue from Behind The Lava Lamp, a mini-documentary on Charles Hamilton.

Check it out below:

Community showrunner Dan Harmon opened up about his sadness over Glover's depature (via Splitsider):

It's devastating, the idea. It's heart-wrenching. He has my absolute full support doing whatever he wants to do. He's one of the most intimidatingly talented people I've ever had the pleasure of writing words for. [Losing] Troy is like the left arm being removed from your body. ... You have to acknowledge it and handle it. ... We're gonna charge in, we're gonna make eye contact with the tragedy that is his departure, and we're gonna turn it into a story and we're gonna feel the feels and laugh the laughs and deal with it.

If Gambino releases an album of tracks as strong as "Centipede", it might just be worth it.
