I don't know if I've heard "whiffing" in song form so clearly as I do on Consequence of Love & Hip Hop fame's remix of Kanye West's "Black Skinhead." This, this is just bad, you guys.

Check it out below:

-Listen as Consequence takes on the beat of one of the most critically-praised songs of the year and turns in some seriously lackluster lines.

-Listen as Cons tries to fit, like, 16 extra syllables into every line.

-Marvel at the "hide like George Zimmerman" line. "Maybe Cons can turn this around," you think. "After all he is a very gifted rapper." You were as wrong to trust him as Cons was to release this.

-Feel the overwhelming sense of relief when Consequence backs out and lets Kanye West take back his song.

- Remember an apt comparison as you listen to Kanye kill it and reflect back on Consequence's misguided verses: "He's like a lawn flamingo in front of the pyramids. It helps your perspective." (paraphrased from this article, where it referred to Big Sean on 'Clique')

Here's the thing. I'm no Yeezus acolyte. While many of the songs sounded interesting, I wasn't as ready to sound the GOAT horn as other people. However, hearing what other rappers do with the same material, maybe I need to go back and give Kanye another chance.

What do you think? Am I being to hard on Consequence?

Sound off below.
