Kanye West is normally pretty confident in his artistic vision, but he'll reach out to the big names when he feels it's right. The rapper is teaming up with author Bret Easton Ellis to form a script for an upcoming project, which is probably a new music video one can assume.

It's not the first time West has teamed up with the author, knows for novels such as "Less Than Zero," while promoting his new album "Yeezus." Back when West was getting word out about the yet-unreleased album, Easton Ellis wrote the script for the video for "New Slaves," used as an extended commercial for the album. The video was inspired by the film "American Psycho," which is based on Easton Ellis's novel of the same name. The author admitted that he wasn't wholly satisfied with the final product for the "New Slaves" video. He reportedly got a call from West, whom he had never met, requesting a script for the short. And he needed it that day.

"He wanted it done, like, that day. So I wrote it very quickly and they shot it," Easton Ellis said. "We all had our problems with it, but ultimately the fact that Kanye liked it so much it helped change whatever reservations we had."

The clip involves "Keeping Up With The Kardashians" star Scott Disnick as an obsessed West fan/ psychopath. The character ends up hacking up Kim Kardashian's real-life friend Jonathan Cheban as "New Slaves" plays in the background.

There's no word yet on what song(s) the video will cover, but West is still pretty hot on "New Slaves" as a song. He announced earlier in the week that he believed the song's second-verse was the best in the history of hip-hop.
