Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson Split UPDATE: Katy Perry Texts 'Twilight' Starlet to Debunk R-Patz 'Playboy' Dating Rumors, Confirms John Mayer Romance

Since Robert Pattinson broke things off with longtime "Twilight" sweetheart Kristen Stewart earlier this summer, he's been spotted hanging out with several other Hollywood beauties (read more on R-Patz's Playboy status here). Rumors even implied that the British heartthrob was hooking up with K-Stew's good gal pal, Katy Perry. So in order to debunk such nonsense, the "Fireworks" songstress actually texted Stewart, letting her know she has nothing to worry about. Perry and R-Patz are NOT hooking up. She's actually romancing John Mayer!

In the September cover issue of ELLE UK magazine, the 28-year-old pop songstress sets the record straight on her relationship with Pattinson:

"I sent her [Stewart] a text message saying, 'I know you've seen all this stuff, but you know I would never disrespect you. I'm not that person. I'm just trying to be a friend to him but it is unfortunate that I do have a set of tits.'"

Here's what Perry has to say about her actual relationship with singer John Mayer.. and explains why their brief split back in March made them closer in the long-run:

"He pulled away. That was a big hello for me. I realized I could lose the person I loved and I had to deal with some things, issues I think a lot of women have. You can be strong in one aspect of your life but submissive in another... The men I have gone for are challenging, yes, but they're also wildly intelligent and poetic. I'm not interested in taming anyone," reveals Perry. "I'm pretty wild myself."

Perry did provide R-Patz with a good shoulder to lean on during the Robsten break up drama... but that's because she's a good friend. A Hollywood Life insider claims:

"Katy has been really supportive of Rob since he and Kristen split up. She has been his main support during this whole breakup. Kristen has tons of friends that she can lean on, whereas most of Rob's closest friends are in England."

K-Stew never believed there was any secret "flame" between them, despite the rumors:
