Michael Jackson Lawsuit: Debbie Rowe Not Expected to Take The Stand This Week, Mother of Pop Star's Children Still Expected to Testify

Members of the tabloid press (we'll admit our inclusion here) will have to wait until at least next week before Debbie Rowe comes to the stand to testify on behalf of the AEG Live defense team. Rowe, the former wife of Michael Jackson and mother to his children Prince and Paris Jackson, is an anticipated witness as she was privy to many of the pop star's treatments during the '90s. 

Jackson and Rowe met when she was working as a nurse at the office of his dermatologist, Arnold Klein. Details about anesthesia and treatments Jackson received at the office remain to be seen, but Rowe reportedly placed part of the blame for the vocalist's 2009 death on the dermatologist. 

Although those details may intrigue the jury, AEG is more interested in getting details on Jackson's use of the sleep aid propofol, a drug that caused the star's death when his personal physician, Conrad Murray, gave him too much. The Jackson family is alleging that AEG hired Murray and was therefore responsible for the death, by the company denies hiring the doctor and claims Jackson had deeper drug problems that he kept hidden from his family. AEG's lawyer Marvin Putnam said Rowe would shed light on how heavily Jackson used the drug. 

"(She) will tell you she saw several doctors put Mr. Jackson to sleep with propofol overnight in hotel rooms (while touring)," he said. "Ms. Rowe knew this was incredibly dangerous. ...She would always insist on being there when he got propofol overnight."

Rowe may hesitate to say too much however. She has rekindled her relationship with Paris following the teenager's suicide attempt in June, and giving testimony that hurts the Jackson's case might hurt her chances of getting closer to her daughter.
