Explosions In The Sky Scoring Al Pacino Film After Tour [FULL DATES]

It's been a weird year for movie score/band collaborations. First, we had the news that Empire of The Sun was scoring Dumb and Dumber To and now Texas post-rockers Explosions in The Sky will compose the score for the upcoming Al Pacino film Manglehorn.

While this news isn't as strange as the EOTS news, after all Explosions In The Sky just finished the score for the film Prince Avalance and scored the high-school football film Friday Night Lights, but it still allows us to say "Explosions In The Sky" and "Al Pacino" in the same sentence, which is notable.

Due for release in 2014, Manglehorn starts shooting this fall, with a script by Paul Logan based on a story by Logan and Green. Pacino will play the titular character, A.J. Manglehorn, "an eccentric man who tries to come to terms with a past crime that cost him the love of his life."  

EITS will begin work on the score in late 2013 after wrapping up a tour, the dates of which are below:
