Chris Evans, '1:30 Train': 'Captain America' Actor Makes Directorial Debut in Romantic Drama

Captain America star, Chris Evans will direct an indie romance. Deadline reports that Evans, directorial debut is for the film 1:30 Train which is:

"A romance in the vein of Richard Linklater's Before Sunrise, focusing on two strangers who meet in Manhattan and spend one night together as the conflicts in their own lives become the basis for their exploration of each other and themselves."

The film is written by Ron Bass (Rain Man, The Joy Luck Club, Stepmom, My Best Friend's Wedding) and will be Evans first role behind the camera.

According to IMDB, the summary is,

"A woman misses the 1:30 train from New York to Boston and a street musician spends the night trying to help her make it back home before her husband does. Throughout the night they learn a lot about one another and eventually find a romance."

The remaining full cast and crew has yet to be announced.

Evans is currently working on the second installment of Captain America. Evans also recently played a contract killer in the 2012 film The Iceman. IMDB reports that the film is the, "true story of Richard Kuklinski, the notorious contract killer and family man. When finally arrested in 1986, neither his wife nor daughters have any clue about his real profession."

In an interview with W Magazine, Evans expressed his interest in not being typecast as a good guy.

 "I was obsessed with the Iceman," Evans said in the phone interview will training for Captain America. "I'm attracted to that sociopathic stuff-the idea of no handcuffs on your personality. A thousand times a day I want to stand on my chair, kick over my water glass, and say what's on my mind. But I don't. Pronge did; he was the crazy mayor of his own island."
