Anyone who has ever read the classic '80s underground chronicle Our Band Could Be Your Life knows that the members of Black Flag have never been what anyone could consider friends. Still, it's a bit surprising that things could get this nasty. Black Flag and SST Records founder Greg Ginn is taking the member's of Black Flag reunion group FLAG to court over the use of the band's name. He also threw in former Black Flag lead singer Henry Rollins, who is not involved in Ginn's incarnation of Black Flag nor FLAG, presumably because he never really liked him.

Via The Hollywood Reporter:

[Ginn] claims he and his label, SST Records, exclusively own the rights to the Black Flag name (and "Flag" variation) and infamous logo, which Flag use on tour.

He sued his 1979-mid 1980s bandmates Friday, seeking an injunction against their current tour, which kicked off in May and will stop in Los Angeles (pending this case) for FYF Fest on August 24. The suit describes the alleged infringement of the logo and name "Flag" as "a colorable imitation" that's "likely to cause confusion, mistake or deception among consumers."

FLAG includes former Black Flag members Dez Cadena, Chuck Dukowski, Keith Morris and Bill Stevenson and is rounded out by Descendents guitarist Stephen Egerton. The suit against them is available here.
