It has already been announced that "Community" star Donald Glover has reduced his role on the NBC comedy for its upcoming fifth season, only appearing in five episodes of the 13-episode order. Though Glover initially stated he's pulling back on his "Community" commitments to focus on his rap career as Childish Gambino, it has now been revealed he has another reason: a sitcom on FX.

This morning (Aug. 6), Deadline reported that Glover has signed on for a new half-hour long music/comedy show, tentatively titled "Atlanta" on FX. Glover will write, executive produce and act as the lead in the show. "Atlanta" will reportedly take place against the backdrop of the ATL music scene, of which Glover grew up in and is comfortable and familiar with.

According to Deadline, other networks were interested in picking up the show. However, Glover picked FX due to its edgy comedy brand -- which includes hits like "It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia" and "The League" -- as well as their willingness to work around his rap career in regards to scheduling.

This will be Glover's third big sitcom gig in his short 29 years. He first worked as a writer on the Tina Fey NBC sitcom "30 Rock" and then broke out on to the scene one part of the Greendale Seven on "Community."

Meanwhile, under his Childish Gambino moniker, Glover recently released "Centipede," a journey through rap music and R&B. The track dropped last month. Listen to "Centipede" below.
