Actor Terrence Howard's ex-wife Michelle Ghent opened up about her side of the ordeal of the domestic abuse that occurred in Costa Rica. Ghent said that Howard then walked over to a table where he kept two knives and that's when she panicked and pepper sprayed him.

Ghent then said Howard knocked her down and began kicking her leaving her with a black eye, contusions, and swelling.

According to Howard's story, the divorced couple was in "a normal married fight," until Ghent threatened to kill his family and later pulled out pepper spray and attacked him and his kids.

The actor claimed that he did not touch Ghent and has threatening text messages from his ex-wife that he plans on showing the judge today in court.

In May Ghent texted Terrence, "I would start hiding if I were u." In another text she writes, "Be careful when u leave your place. U should move." And in yet another she writes, "I know where u and ur family live. Watch yourself."

Again, Ghent allegedly threatened Howard's life texting him, "You need to be put down once and for all. I will not stop until all knows who u are."

The "Iron Man" even admitted in documents that Ghent tried to commit suicide a couple months ago and texted the actor, "I'm just insane. I went to a crazy institute."

In March, Howard spoke to radio show The Breakfast Club about rekindling his marriage with Ghent before their divorce in May. When Radio host Angela Yee was surprised they were still together after a drama filled relationship Howard told her, "Everyone has a little bit of drama that's why it's called life."

The actor compared the drama in marriages to countless dramas in friendships and families and says his marriage with Ghent was "the determination not to let go."

Maybe it's time to let go now...
