Kick-Ass 2 star Chloe Moretz (Hit Girl) is speaking out against Jim Carrrey's refusal to do any publicity for the film.
In an interview with The Sun, Moretz claimed that Carrey's argument against the film, that it will inspire violence, is a little bit flawed.
"It's a movie. If you are going to believe and be affected by an action film, you shouldn't go to see 'Pocahontas' because you are going to think you are a Disney princess," Moretz said.
Carrey bashed the film in June, claiming that he couldn't promote the comic book adaptation in which he plays a vigilante superhero named Colonel Stars N Stripes.
"I did Kickass a month b4 Sandy Hook and now in all good conscience I cannot support that level of violence," he tweeted. "My apologies to others involve with the film. I am not ashamed of it but recent events have caused a change in my heart."
Moretz took a different approach.
"If you are that easily swayed, you might see 'The Silence of the Lambs' and think you are a serial killer," she said. "It's a movie and it's fake, and I've known that since I was a kid ... I don't want to run around trying to kill people and cuss. If anything, these movies teach you what not to do."
What do you think of Kick-Ass 2 star Chloe Moretz's take on the Jim Carrey situation?
