The rap world and Internet alike have been driving themselves crazy over Kendrick Lamar's "Control" verse. Everyone from Lupe Fiasco to Wale all the way down to JR Writer (who is still alive) have weighed in on the track. But what do the men behind the best rap album of the year (so far) have to say about it? Killer Mike and El-P weighed in on the diss track and (rightfully) said it's nothing special.

"It's so funny to me to see people freak out. All these born-again Hip Hop purists," El-P said in the video interview (below). "Lyrics are important. No sh*t. Some of us been going for the throat our whole careers. Me and Mike, we listen to that sh*t, and we laugh, like 'yes.' Other motherf*ckers are sitting there sweating. Not us. We're just like, cool, we got another one on our team."

His team being the lyrical savants behind Cancer For Cure, R.A.P. Music and Run The Jewels, the 1-2 rap albums of 2012 and the best album to come out so far this year (yes, including Yeezus

The brash former member of underground rap legends Company Flow seemed surprised that rappers needed to be prodded by K-Dot's verse to want to get at each other.

"He just got on the track and ripped it, said what he wanted to. That's what we do. That's what everyone should do," El-P said.

Killer Mike laid out a course of action for those feeling wronged by Kendrick's verse (while pulling a similar tactic to K-Dot).

"I'm just glad the culture is getting back on some rap sh*t," the Atlanta rapper said. "I suggest a lot of y'all sucker-ass rappers get together, form a tag team, and try to compete, because right now you're looking at the greatest tag team walking the face of the earth."
