DMX Arrested For Marijuana Possession In South Carolina, Denies The Charges

Right now, Earl Simmons is probably wondering why police are always trying to get at him (,dog). DMX was arrested last night (August 20) in South Carolina on charges of marijuana possession. You can see the stop in question below, courtesy TMZ:

TMZ says the police reports claim that Simmons was "very aggressive with his words and was making multiple idle threats." They also say that DMX smelled of alcohol. The marijuana that got Darkman in trouble was sitting on the armrest next to Simmons, who was a passenger.

Earl was released this morning but, If things go south when DMX meets with a Greer County judge, he may end up behind bars for a 15-day stint. Reps for X seem to imply that there was something fishy with the traffic stop in their official statement.

"DMX was driving in the passenger seat when the vehicle he was in was pulled over last night. Although officers pulled them over for a minor traffic violation, DMX was asked to step outside so they can search the vehicle. Officers then claimed that they found bags of marijuana in the floorboard and arrested X. No drugs were found on DMX or the other passengers and the alleged bags of marijuana were never shown to DMX or the other passengers. DMX was released this morning at approximately 11am EST and is back at his home in South Carolina."
