Several gossip reports confirm that Jennifer Lopez (along with "American Idol" producers) want Justin Bieber's well-known manager Scooter Braun to occupy the show's final judge's seat next season. According to TMZ, research shows that viewers don't care about the star-studded judge's table anymore - they simply want to see America's 'next biggest pop star" win the competition. Is Braun the perfect guy to help discover that superstar?
TMZ explains:
"A.I." execs believe the show has lost its way by sinking their fortunes on the judges. The research is clear -- viewers want to see the next Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood emerge from the pack.
Considering Braun helped launch the careers or JB, Carly Rae Jepsen, and The Wanted, he may be the perfect "expert" for the part.
There's only one problem - Braun apparently enjoys being off Hollywood's radar. Insiders reveal that he likes being able to go to the grocery store without anyone bothering him. He's flattered by the recognition, but still has many doubts.
TMZ reports that Braun might be willing to take the "A.I." gig - as long as he's given management control of any contestant he chooses (even those who don't win).
If so, Braun would be joining J. Lo and Keith Urban at the judge's table for the 13th season of "American Idol."
