Aaron Hernandez has been indicted by prosecutors for first-degree murder and five weapons charges.

The former New England patriots fan was charged in June 17 for the murder of 27-year-old semipro football player Odin Lloyd. Hernandez pleaded not guilty and has in in prison since June 26.

According to USA Today, Hernandez' defense attorney Jamie Sultan asked for a gag order before the trial continues so the proceedings "won't be tainted by some explosion of publicity from the district attorney's office."

Michael Fee, Hernandez's other attorney says the NFL athlete is an "innocent man" and there was "an incredible rush to judgment."

 MStars News previously reported:

Former New England Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez may have asked his girlfriend Shayanna Jenkins to get rid of the murder weapon after authorities discovered Odin Lloyd body.

Investigators are looking into Jenkins' relationship with Hernandez and the possibility if she was instructed to take the gun and/or the gun safe to another location.

According to the Bristol Press, a search warrant were granted to look into Hernandez's storage facility and security cameras at the Bristol storage facility after footage of Jenkins was shown transporting a lock box from the house to her sister's vehicle.

Authorities believe that the key evidence to the case could be dumped in the Massachusetts's woods or placed in the storage facility.

Investigators discovered the Bristol storage room after going through Hernandez's financial records after searching another storage unit at U.S. Storage in July.

Tanya Cummings-Singleton, cousin of the NFL athlete was prisoned since Aug 1, but there is no word if she has any affiliation in the murder case, however in a recent affidavit, Cummings-Singleton bought a bus ticket for Ernest Wallace, who is believe to be an accomplice. A warrant was released for Wallace's arrest for an accessory to murder, but in his surrendering in Florida he denied the charges.

Hernandez has pleaded not guilty to the murder charge.
