For those readers who missed out on MTV's 2013 VMAs on Sunday evening (August 25), check out Miley Cyrus' sexy (and somewhat controversial) "We Can't Stop" and "Blurred Lines" performances alongside Robin Thicke:

Inappropriate? Maybe. But that doesn't mean Cyrus and Thicke's stunning wife Paula Patton got into a heated "cat fight" backstage after the show!

The seedy gossip webloid MediaTakeOut.com reports that Patton viciously "attacked" Liam Hemsworth's fiance after her naughty "twerk" performance (where Cyrus continuously shook her booty up against Thicke). The "highly reliable" MTO snitch reports: "We had to physically hold Paula back, she was ready to go crazy. Plus she seemed to be a little inebriated - maybe too much champagne."

The source claims that Patton was furious, but waited to attack after the show so that she could get closer to Cyrus. That's when she " LASHED OUT." This MTO insider didn't witness the actual fight, but rumors suggest that Patton physically put her hands on the former Disney starlet. According to MTO, the story is still developing...

Sounds a little too extreme... this is just show biz, after all!

Thicke and Cyrus probably practiced this routine in the days leading up to the VMAs... if Patton (or even Thicke) had an issue with it, they could have voiced such concerns then.

Gossip Cop spoke with a friend VERY close to Patton, who insists that this shady report is totally untrue. Patton did not attack Cyrus... she wasn't even that mad (considering Cyrus and Thicke were merely "acting"). Other sources also tell TMZ Patton was "all good" with the racy performance. There were enough rehearsals beforehand to know what to expect.

Which story do fans believe?
