With the 2013-2014 NFL season kicking off its first Sunday today, all the talk is over the 2014 Super Bowl at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. Super Bowl XLVIII will take place February 2 and the NFL's halftime show seems to have leaked. According to the Associated Press, Bruno Mars has been selected to be the halftime show for this season's Super Bowl taking place just outside New York City. The Grammy award-winning singer will have big shoes to fill as millions around the world see the halftime show.

Another big factor into this year's Super Bowl is the fact that it's taking place just outside New York City, adding to the already huge event. Oh yeah, and it's also going to be the first ever Super Bowl in an outdoor stadium in a cold weather city. At least the NFL won't have to worry about another Janet Jackson halftime debacle. The Farmers' Almanac recently predicted snow for the Feb. 2nd game at MetLife Stadium, even dubbing it the "Storm Bowl." Mars better dress warm.

Mars is just the latest big pop act to take the stage for the Super Bowl halftime show. Beyonce took the stage for last year's Super Bowl halftime show in New Orleans, which saw the Baltimore Ravens defeat the San Francisco 49ers. The last five artists to perform at the Super Bowl have been Beyonce, Madonna, Black Eyed Peas, The Who, and Bruce Springsteen. For a list of the Super Bowl half time shows since 2000 see below.
