The Miss America pageant returns to Atlantic City, NJ Sunday evening as 53 Miss America hopefuls strut their stuff this evening to try and become the 2014 Miss America. Tonight's show already has a lot of interesting story lines. Just this past week Miss Kansas Theresa Vail showed off her tattoos at preliminaries, which may make her the first contestant to showcase her tattoos in such a prominent way. Also, according to the New York Post, Miss New York Nina Davuluri ,was allegedly recorded calling the current Miss America, Mallory Hagan, "fat." The Miss America pageant will be back in Atlantic City for the first time since 2006. The pageant has been taking place in Las Vegas the last few years. The 2014 pageant will be broadcast on TV live on ABC starting at 9pm and running until 11pm. According to the International Business Times, hosting this year's pageant will be "The Bachelor" host Chris Harrison and Lara Spencer of "Good Morning America."

Miss Kansas, Theresa Vail, will be showing off her tattoos, she is believed to be the first Miss America contestant to show her tattoos off in plain sight. Meanwhile, Miss New York found herself in some hot water as she was allegedly heard on a recording saying, "Mallory's fat as [bleep]."

According to Fox News, Davuluri sent a Facebook message to Hagan apologizing. The apology reportedly read (via Fox News):

"I want to apologize for the awful statements made by people in my room . . . There were people who claimed to be my supporters and said things I never agreed with, nor supported . . . I was never a part of the words or statements that may have been hurtful . . . I'm sorry if someone said something that was inappropriate."
