Lorde will be on the cover of the New Zealand Metro's October 2013 issue. In the issue, the 16-year-old "Royals" singer talks about a number of topics, including feminism and Taylor Swift. Lorde wasn't shy about making her opinion known in comments that seem to be coming from a much older and wiser person than most would expect from a 16-year-old singer. Keep reading to see what Lorde said in the interview.

Don't worry Taylor Swift fans, it doesn't seem as though Lorde was taking any shots at Swift personally, rather just using the "22" singer as an example to explain her issues with how young girls perceive the flawlessness of their role models.

"Taylor Swift is so flawless, and so unattainable, and I don't think it's breeding anything good in young girls," Lorde explained in her interview with Metro (via Pop Crush). "'I'm never going to be like Taylor Swift, why can't I be as pretty as Lorde?' That's f-- bullshit." Granted, I'm not a 16-year-old girl, but what I think she was saying is that young girls shouldn't be trying to achieve this perceived "flawlessness" of artists such as Swift.

Lorde continued in her interview to give her take on feminism, which seems like a fairly mature take on it. "I think women who say, 'No, I'm not a feminist - I love men,' I think that is just... You don't know what it means," Lorde told Metro. "You think it means that, 'I don't shave under my arms, I burn my bras. F- men!' How could you be so uneducated, and so unwilling to learn about something which is so important to you?"

What do you think about Lorde's views on feminism and Taylor Swift's flawlessness?
