After failing to agree on a budget, the United States government shut down on Oct. 1 for the first time in 17 years. Republicans and democrats refused to compromise or reach an agreement, based mostly on the implementation of the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare. Until the two parties come to an agreement, all non-essential government operations grind to a halt, leaving millions of workers without work and unpaid.

Amidst the national turmoil one pop star, the legendary Cher is furious. Following the news of the government shutdown, she took to her very active Twitter account to unload her anger and disgust at American politicians, especially those who are against universal healthcare.

"OF THE PPL 'LAZY ASS'S OUT OF ...COUGH COUGH, THE EXHAUSTING JOB OF PASSING LAWS 2BENEFIT THEIR CONSITUENTS! OH HELP ME MR CRUZ I CAN'T LIFT MY PEN BECAUSE IM WEIGHED DOWN WITH MY BRIBES! THESE LOSERS COULDN'T FIND THEIR COLLECTIVE ASS W/ BOTH HANDS, A MAP & A GPS SYSTEM," she wrote angrily (and slightly incoherently) on Oct. 1.

Though Cher then marked that her anger against the government was done for the time being, she soon returned to Twitter to rant a little more, mostly about the lack of healthcare in the US.

"IN EUROPE! PPL ASTONISHED RE GOV SHUTDOWN. THEY DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY RICHEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD DOESN'T ALREADY HAVE HEALTHCARE 4 EVERYONE," she wrote. "PPL ASK ME WHY OUR GOV OFFICIALS R ALLOWED 2KEEP THEIR JOBS EVEN THOUGH THEY CANT DO THEM?! I SAY 'JOB IS JUST STEPPING STONE 2 MORE $ 4 THEM."

This isn't the first time Cher has taken to her Twitter to express her displeasure, the legendary singer is a frequent social media user.
