College football Saturday starts off with a bang today as the 25th ranked Maryland Terrapins face the eighth ranked Florida State Seminoles. Both teams are undefeated headed into week five of the 2013 NCAA football season. Maryland will be heading down to Tallahassee, Florida to play on the road at Doak Campbell Stadium. Both teams will be featuring star quarterbacks with the Seminoles' Jameis Winston and the Terrapins' C.J. Brown trying to lead their teams to victory. Florida State is a potential national title game contender behind the third ranked offense in the nation, averaging over 51 points a game. However, the Terrapins bring with them a much better defense than the Seminoles' previous four opponents. The Terrapins defense is ranked third in the nation and has held opponents to an average of 10.3 points a game thus far. Something's got to give.

The same argument for Florida State's offense could be made for Maryland's defense as they haven't really faced a strong offensive opponent yet. Even West Virginia's offense isn't' ranked in the top 100. Old Dominion has put up some huge points on opponents before facing Maryland, but they are Old Dominion.

I may be jumping on the bandwagon too soon, but with Maryland also boasting an impressive offense behind star wide receiver Stefon Diggs who has three touchdowns and 400 yards receiving in his first four games, I feel like Maryland has the potential for an upset today.

According to OddsShark, Vegas has Florida State as the 16 point favorites. Although I want to pick Maryland to win in an upset, I will ultimately go with Florida State to win. However, I do think Maryland will make it a competitive game.
