The "Glee" tribute episode to Cory Monteith, "The Quarterback," airs tomorrow night (Oct. 10) on FOX. Leading up to the somber episode's premiere, Monteith's real life and on-screen girlfriend Lea Michele has spoken out about the "perfect" episode and the television tribute to the character Finn Hudson, and how it parallels the real-life mourning process she and the cast undertook to grieve the loss of Monteith.

"I feel like, for me personally, I've lost two people: Cory and Finn," Michele said in an interview with TV Week Australia. "We had a beautiful memorial for Cory in the auditorium and some of the cast members sand and people spoke about him. It only felt right that we would do the same thing for Finn, so I felt it was very therapeutic."

The tribute episode of "Glee" -- which features former members of William McKinley High School's glee club returning to the school to mourn Hudson and celebrate his life using music -- pulled from some real life inspiration, according to Michele.

"One day I came home and Cory was there with this plaque from the set that we always had in the glee club, and I said, 'What's that doing here?' and he said, 'I took it!' He said, 'This summer, we are going to take it all over everywhere we go and take pictures of us with this plaque!' and that's what we did," said Michele. "Then I got the script and thought it was so unbelievable that they chose to do that in the episode. So, for me, there are a lot of little things that are so special. Everything means a lot to me."

'The Quarterback" episode of "Glee" will air this Thursday, Oct. 10, at 9 p.m. on FOX.

Earlier this week, music from the episode debuted online. Musical tributes, sung by various cast members, include "Seasons of Love" from "RENT," "I'll Stand By You" by The Pretenders and "Fire & Rain" by James Taylor.
