Will Arnett Says Arrested Development Season 5 In The Works

Rejoice, Bluth family fans! Will Arnett, Gob himself, has revealed that Arrested Development Season 5 is in production.

The "Spoiler Chat" column at E! Online contains the following information from Arnett:

"Shawn: What's the status of Arrested Development maybe sort of possibly doing more episodes for Netflix?

Will Arnett tells us that more Bluth family hijinks are ahead, it's just the format that is being worked out. 'I can't really confirm precisely what's happening, but I can tell you that we are actively working on something right now,' the man behind Gob reveals. 'Once we have that nailed down then there will be more of an official announcement to come from Mitch Hurwitz. It's something that we're all open to doing and I think we're going to do.' Bring on the bees!"

All 13 episodes of Season 4 of Arrested Development appeared on Netflix at the same time earlier this year. Netflix does not release viewership numbers for programming, but the numbers were reportedly huge when the cult classic comedy returned. Critics' reviews, on the other hand, were somewhat mixed.

Once they binge-watched Season 4, many fans began to wonder how and when Season 5 would take shape. Some expected a movie, others expected another Netflix season and still others thought a return to regular television may have been in the works. As Arnett points out, series creator Mitch Hurwitz is likely to make the official announcement on the format of Season 5 when the time is right.
