Miley Cyrus To Perform MTV's European Music Awards

The EMAs, MTV Europe's annual answer to the VMAs, is shaping up to be the VMAs...but on another continent this time. Big name acts booked for the show include Katy Perry, Ariana Grande, Lady Gaga and (in a move that has dead horses anticipating the rod any minute now) Miley Cyrus.

The move seems cynical even for MTV. Miley Cyrus' performance was one of the most talked about events -musical or otherwise- this year. Her performance at the EMAs has guaranteed buzz written all over it, even if Cyrus stands still and sings a tender ballad for three minutes. 

The real shame though is that every major position of the awards show meant to give European acts their own space outside the constant onslaught of the American pop culture juggernaut, is filled by an American artist. Redfoo of LMFAO is hosting. Redfoo! We don't even give a sh*t about that guy here.

The 2013 EMAs will broadcast from the Netherlands on November 10. US viewers can tune in at 7 PM EST.
