The Cameron Crowe who brought you Jerry McGuire and Almost Famous has an all-star cast lined up for his next film. Aside from leads Emma Stone and Bradley Cooper, TheWrap reports Rachel McAdams, Alec Baldwin and Danny McBride are on board. Jay Baruchel has just joined as Bradley Cooper's stepbrother. Still waiting on the official confirmation that Bill Murray will join the long list of actors across comedic and drama domains. We can only expect the film to have that trademark mix of heart and humor that Crowe nails every time.

TheWrap's Jeff Sneider gave a summary on the plot, which has been even vaguer up until now. Cooper plays a defense contractor on a crazy-sounding project: to manage "the launch of a weapons satellite from Hawaii." It's on the island where he meets an Air Force pilot (Stone), and teaming up on this intense mission leads to romance. We can only imagine where the other characters will fit into the story, and if the audience will get some surprise deviations from Crowe's signature style, a la Vanilla Sky. Aside from directing, Crowe has written the script and is producing with Scott Rudin, the first producer to ever win an Oscar, Emmy, Grammy and Tony. The Grand Budapest Hotel currently in post-production is another Wes Anderson film he's produced, along with many movies since the 1980s.

The untitled film has just received a funding boost. Deadline.com reports that New Regency has joined RatPac as a co-financier. Sony Pictures will release the film in the United States, and Fox International, elsewhere. Cast members are currently filming in Hawaii.

From the eclectic cast to the elusive summary, do you have any predictions for how Crowe's latest film will turn out?
