Oh, man. Epic Rap Battles Of History up for artist of the year? That's the sort of thing that only an awards show like this could pull off (shame they downgraded it to token status with one nom in two different categories).

Also, let's say our condolences for "Diamonds" now, going up against "Gangnam Style", "Harlem Shake" and "Thrift Shop" in the Phenomenon category.

The show will feature appearances by Lady Gaga, M.I.A. and Arcade Fire. Eminem, Tyler, The Creator and Earl Sweatshirt have been booked to perform. The YMAs will be hosted by Jason Schwartzman (eh) and Reggie Watts (WHAT!).

Finally, I've seen the video for "Say That" by Toro Y Moi plenty of times and I can't see what about it is innovative. It's just the artist dancing awkwardly in the woods for a bit.

What do you think of the nominations for the YouTube Music Awards? Anyone get left out? See some folks who don't deserve to be there?

Sound off in the comments.
