Are Catherine Zeta Jones and Michael Douglas back together? Going by recent public comments from Douglas, it sounds like the couple may be making amends. Back in August, representatives for both Douglas and Zeta-Jones announced the couple was separating after 13 years of marriage. However, during a recent appearance on Jay Leno's "Tonight Show" Douglas hinted that the couple may not be divorcing; instead they may be getting back together.

"I've been away for a while, but everything should hopefully be on the up-and-up," Douglas explained to Leno. "Sometimes people take a little bit of a break, but it doesn't necessarily mean that's the end. So I'm very hopeful."

These comments come just months after both stars' reps released statements saying the couple had separated. Zeta-Jones' reps said in a statement via ABC News in August, "Catherine and Michael are taking some time apart to evaluate and work on their marriage. There will be no further comment." Douglas said on the "Tonight Show" that they did take some time apart. However, as Douglas also said, this doesn't necessarily mean the couple is heading for divorce. It could just be that the time apart helped the couple's marriage.

Douglas' comments on the "Tonight Show" aren't the only public comments he has made leading some to believe his marriage to Zeta-Jones could be back on. In September while promoting his HBO film "Behind the Candelabra" Douglas was asked about his "crisis at home." Douglas dismissed that there was any such thing saying, "I have a crisis at home? No, I think the press has a crisis. We are fine. My wife and I are fine." Douglas also made a point to thank Zeta-Jones during his Emmy's acceptance speech for lead actor in a movie or miniseries.
