The highly anticipated sequel to "Dumb and Dumber" is finally being made after years of close calls. Now that the movie is currently in production and in line for a summer 2014 release date, the casting news and rumors are starting to heat up. "Dumb and Dumber" was released in 1994, and now 20 years later Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels, and the Farrelly brothers are returning for "Dumb and Dumber To." The latest casting rumor involves an unlikely person, Texas Rangers pitcher Derek Holland.

According to The Dallas Morning News, Holland revealed during a radio interview that he was asked to be a part of the filming for "Dumb and Dumber To" by Peter and Bobby Farrelly. Holland is a well-known fan of the original. He even recreated a scene from "Dumb and Dumber" during a MLB Fan Cave segment. You can check out the video of Holland's segment with teammate Justin Grimm below.

"I was just going out there to have fun," Holland explained to KRLD-FM 105.3 (via The Dallas Morning News). "And next thing I know, they were like, 'We're going to actually put you in the movie and you're going to be in the opening scene. As far as the day went, it was unbelievable, out and about with Jim Carrey, Jeff Daniels, having an unbelievable time. ... I don't really want to say too much except for keep your expectations high cause this movie is seriously going to be funny."

This sounds familiar to the way the Farrelly brothers allegedly asked Jennifer Lawrence to be a part of the film. No big contract negotiations, just a casual question. Do you want to be in "Dumb and Dumber To?" Lawrence is also a big "Dumb and Dumber" fan and she was allegedly asked to be a part of the film and agreed!

My guess is as filming continues; we will continue to hear about more and more cool cameos for the film. Stay tuned!
